Miami Marlins shortstop Xavier Edwards left Friday night's game against the Chicago Cubs with an apparent injury during the fourth inning. Edwards was removed from the game after the Cubs scored four runs in the top of the inning.

No word yet on the nature of the injury

There is no word yet on the nature of the injury. Edwards appeared to suffer a head injury after a collision at second base with Cubs second baseman Nick Madrigal.

Edwards was batting .294 with two home runs and eight RBIs in 30 games this season.

Cubs figure out Max Meyer, score four runs in the fourth

The Cubs have figured out Max Meyer, scoring four runs in the fourth inning. Meyer allowed four runs on six hits in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out five and walked two.

The Cubs scored their runs on a two-run single by Patrick Wisdom, a sacrifice fly by Seiya Suzuki, and an RBI double by Ian Happ.

The Marlins have lost four of their last five games and are now 15-15 on the season.
