Nations League Scotland Boss Steve Clarke Wants Evolution Not Revolution As Andy Robertson Calls For Positivity

Nations League: Scotland boss Steve Clarke wants 'evolution not revolution' as Andy Robertson calls for positivity

Scotland manager Steve Clarke says he wants "evolution not revolution" ahead of the Nations League campaign despite a poor run of form.

Scotland have not won a game since a 2-0 victory over the Faroe Islands in November 2022 and have lost their last three matches, including a 3-0 defeat to Ukraine in a friendly last week.

Ahead of the Nations League matches against Armenia and the Republic of Ireland later this month, Clarke said he would be making changes to his squad but that he did not want to overhaul the entire team.

"I think we're in a period of evolution, not revolution," Clarke said. "We've got a lot of young players coming into the squad, and we're trying to find the right balance between experience and youth."

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has called for positivity ahead of the Nations League campaign.

Robertson said the team need to "get back to basics" and focus on playing to their strengths.

"We need to be more positive," Robertson said. "We need to believe in ourselves and our ability. We've got some great players in this squad, and we can achieve anything if we stick together."

Scotland will face Armenia in Yerevan on June 14 before hosting the Republic of Ireland in Glasgow on June 18.
