Throat Infection Could Delay Messis Inter Miami Comeback

Throat infection could delay Messi's Inter Miami comeback

Miami, Florida - Lionel Messi's highly anticipated debut for Inter Miami could be delayed due to a throat infection, the club announced on Tuesday.

The Argentine superstar joined the MLS side last month after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, and fans were eagerly awaiting his first appearance in the pink and black.

However, Inter Miami revealed in a statement that Messi has been suffering from a throat infection and has been advised by the club's medical staff to rest.

The statement added that Messi's condition will be monitored on a day-to-day basis, and a further update will be provided in due course.

It is unclear at this stage whether Messi will be fit to feature in Inter Miami's next match, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Philadelphia Union.

The 35-year-old forward has been training with his new teammates since joining the club, and he had been expected to make his debut in a friendly against Barcelona on July 19.

However, that match was canceled due to a scheduling conflict, and Messi's debut has now been further delayed by his throat infection.

Inter Miami fans will be hoping that Messi is able to recover quickly and make his debut soon.

The Argentine is one of the greatest players of all time, and his arrival in MLS has been met with much excitement.
